BPC Season 13 - Week 5

Jagu is back to his winning ways and takes it down last night after going heads up with Papa-san.  The 1st for Jagu and 2nd for Papa are good enough to push them both into the Top 9 in 5th and 6th respectively, pushing out KarJelly and Jeena in the process.

Julius keeps the heat on and the dress off for now with a 3rd place finish, and moves up into 4th place.

Sungina playing for Team Omagina bags their first points of the season with a 4th, and Kurt takes the ever so important scraps for 5th.  Jeremiah was the bubble girl.

Cayce didn't point but no one behind him made a big enough move so he takes down Mini-Season 1 and all the bonus chips that go along with it.

Programing note:  The date for the first double header has been changed from 7/8 to FRIDAY 7/22.

Chess takes down the win last night for his 3rd pointing in a row.  He's in second place overall, just a single point behind Cayce with one week left in the first Mini-Season. 

The Milkman got 2nd!  I think he's already beat his score from last season with that pointing alone.

Jeena takes down 3rd and pops into the Top 9.  I got 4th, Padma got the scrappy 5th and Remo was this week's Bubble Boy.

Kurticus had numerous all in's and ample opportunity to use his new "Tug Ahoy!!!" battle cry, especially when it was down to 3 way action and he was pulling 2-outer suck outs, and yet did not pull the trigger a single time.  Very disappointing.  Battle cry or not, he was able to outlast everyone and take down the win.  Congrats Kurt! 

We didn't even get to hear Jackwagon call John son, of Padma, a Pud Tugger after he sent her nut flush to the rail within the first few minutes of the game.  People lets get some focus here.

I got 2nd.  Ka chow.  I got a little help with a suck out hand against Chess, my A-J against his A-K.  I'm not ashamed to say I got a little tingly after it.

Chess got 3rd, and Jagu got 4th after a fresh hospital stay earlier in the day.  John son of Padma took 5th, and Eric was this week's Bubble Boy.

Kurt's win puts him ahead in the Race for the Dress, and Chester's 3rd provides some separation from the two who haven't pointed yet... Mike and Steven.  Julius was suspiciously absent.  Plenty of season left though.

Chess:    "Damn, Judy is trying to kill me!!!"
Everyone: "Wuh?  What happened?"
Chess:    "She's making this chicken for me, and I'm all ready with my knife and fork, and I open the oven and its in there all hot and wrapped in foil.
Everyone: "Yeah, so?"
Chess:    "Sht, I don't know what to do with that!!?!??"

Seriously Chess?  What the hell, did she cook it in a Rubik's cube or something?

Meanwhile at Table 3...

Judy:    "How much does Julius have?"
Fkamiah: "17,000"
Judy:    "How did he double up when he's not even here?"
Fkamiah: "I folded to his raise."

Good times.

But on a serious note, who invited the new guy?  I thought we agreed that we would only invite crappy players.  That's how Steven got in recently, and its sure as hell how I got in.  But what the heck, new guy Cayce starts his young BPC career with a strong 2nd place finish last week, and follows it up with a 1st place this week.  I told you last week to watch out for this guy, we'll be hearing more from him.  In the mean time, he's popped into a healthy 11 point lead for Mini-Season 1.

Remo got 2nd.  He was flirting on the edge earlier in the night, pushing in and surviving many all-in's when it was still 2 tables.  The cards held for him, all the way up to 2nd.

Karrie and baby got 3rd for Team KarJelly (Karrie-Jaclyn-Kelly), starting them off right.  What are the chances of them being on the bubble again for a 3rd season in a row?

Potts got 4th, and Chess got 5th after putting Jeena out on the Bubble.

Season 13 - Week 1

Lucky Season 13 is here, and its looking to be a spirited one.  Maybe everyone still has a Final Table hangover, but sparks were flying last night, both in hands and in words.  Colorful, very colorful.  Or maybe its the prop bet that Julius, Chess, Mike, Kurt and Steven have that provided a little extra electricity.  I think everyone is already aware, but just to make it blog official... the lucky one of those 5 with the least amount of points at the end of this season has to wear a dress for every hand they play in next season.  I think I just vomited a little on the visual (especially with some of the dresses that Jackwagon was suggesting,) but it should be funny and definitely will add even more excitement down the home stretch.

I have no strong predictions for any winners this season, maybe its because I don't have any bets yet.  I can confidently say that Mike won't go back to back though.

Julius continues to ride his Final Table rush and takes down the win last night.  He's off to a quick start and jumps to a big lead in the Best Dressed race.  None of the other 4 pointed last night, though Kurt flirted with points and ended up the Bubble Boy.

New guy Casey toughed it out to 2nd place.  I don't know who he is or where he came from, but something tells me there's more points coming his way if he keeps playing this season.

I got 3rd.  Woot.

And Papa Kumo got 4th.  Woot woot.  Now that he's got his freshman season behind him, I'm curious to see how he'll this time around.

Season 12 - Week 25

And Season 12 is in the books!!!  What a finish, so much to talk about I doubt I'll be able to mentioned everything worth mentioning, but here goes...

After a prolonged 13 week slumber with no pointings, Jagu wakes up and takes down 1st place in the final game of the season.  Its his 4th of the season, and along with his 2 2nd places, its pushes him up to 103 points and into 2nd place overall, just behind...

... this year's official Points Champion, Mike!!!

Mike sealed the deal by slipping into 5th place last night, and putting Jagu just out of reach by a couple of points.  Had he not done that, we would have had co-champions and a whole lot of controversy on the various prop bets people had.  Well done Mikey!  I called it from the beginning of the season, and you pulled it off.  Its the first thing I've been right about in years.  (Just ask Angela.)

Ant got 2nd and was the highest spoiler finisher.  He only played in 14 games this season, but still finished respectably high.  Hopefully we can get him back as a full time player some time soon.
 

Last year's Points Champion Steven was on the outside looking in, and needed at least a 3rd place to be in contention.  With a valiant effort that's exactly what he got, a 3rd place, and the 9 points are enough to put him in the Top 9.  Or would have beenhad bought some of the points for the 6 weeks he missed!!!  Or if Kurticus had not gotten 4th place!!!

But he didn't buy them, and Kurt did in fact take control of his own destiny and got 4th place, enough to get him to 71 points and back into the Top 9, just ahead of Steven by 2 points!  Steven will be the starting chip leader again at the Final Table, but this year it will be at the Kiddies Table.

Arjan was the Bubble Boy, his second of the season and it was a brutal one.  I don't know exactly how it played out, but he was all in with A-Q against Jagu's pkt 4's.  Arjan hits on the flop, but Jagu spikes his 2-outer suck out on the river to send Arjan to the rail, and effectively locking in Mike's championship and Kurt's position in the Top 9.

Crazy.

Team KarJacked went into the final game of the season this year the same way they did last year... clinging on to the 9th and final spot.  And unfortunately ended the season in the same way... out of the Top 9.  This year courtesy of Kurtesy.  

Julius has been sweating bullets for a while now after not pointing at all in the home stretch.  But he is now officially a member of the BPC May 9!!!  His first one ever, and no matter where he finishes it is already a profitable one for him with all the prop bets he had on himself.  Congrats Jules!

He is one of 3 first timers at the Final Table.  Padma and Charlie didn't point last night, but didn't need to after a season of very solid poker play they already had their seats locked up. 

I failed to make it into the Century Club.  Loser.  But I am the only one to ever finish with 99 points on the button, so I'm starting my own damn club, so there.  Feels like high school all over. 

Speaking of which, where were the midgets?

Season 12 - Week 24

Charlie was last night's big winner, congrats Charlie!  The win is big, and almost puts him within striking distance of the points champion title, but just misses by a point.

Bagu bags himself 2nd place, keeping him in the hunt for a Final Table seat.

Jackwagon got 3rd for Team KarJacked, putting them in 9th place and back in the Top 9 going into the final week of the season.  The exact same position they were in last year before someone so rudely booted them out in the final game.  Their move into the Top 9 was at the expense of Kurt, who finds himself in 10th now.

Eric was the only spoiler to do anything, coming in 4th place for just his 3rd pointing of the season.

Chester had a considerable stack of chips when it was getting short handed, and it looked like he was going to make a move to the top last night, but somehow he gave them away and ended up in 5th place.  He's tied with Padma for 3rd overall.

Steven was the Bubble Boy.
