BPC Season 12 - Week 24

Charlie was last night's big winner, congrats Charlie! The win is big, and almost puts him within striking distance of the points champion title, but just misses by a point.
Bagu bags himself 2nd place, keeping him in the hunt for a Final Table seat.
Jackwagon got 3rd for Team KarJacked, putting them in 9th place and back in the Top 9 going into the final week of the season. The exact same position they were in last year before someone so rudely booted them out in the final game. Their move into the Top 9 was at the expense of Kurt, who finds himself in 10th now.
Eric was the only spoiler to do anything, coming in 4th place for just his 3rd pointing of the season.
Chester had a considerable stack of chips when it was getting short handed, and it looked like he was going to make a move to the top last night, but somehow he gave them away and ended up in 5th place. He's tied with Padma for 3rd overall.
Steven was the Bubble Boy.

BPC Season 12 - Week 23

Papa Kumo takes down Week 23 for his first victory of his rookie season! The 15 points actually only move him up a couple of positions, from 16th to tied at 14th, but more importantly it lands him in the splash zone in the legitimate hunt for a Top 9 spot and a seat at the big show. Both he and Arjan are only 8 points away from Kurt, who after a couple of recent wins clings precariously to the final 9th spot at 64 points.
Jeremiah went into the game in 9th, but got just what he needed in a 2nd place, moving him up to 6th place and 74 points. With 2 weeks left, a minimum score of 76 and 3 people behind him in the Top 9, its not yet a lock but probability is very high that he'll be back to defend last year's title.
And then there's Chess, who endured a 7 week cold streak and has been on a bit of a run, with 4 pointings in the last 6 weeks including a 3rd place last night. That's good enough to move him past Jagu and into 4th place overall, just 13 points behind this year's eventual points champion Mike. But Mike better find his mojo real soon because he's riding a 5 week cold streak and leaving the door wide open.
And speaking of lost mojo, after starting the season gang busters with points, Jagu has not pointed in a season long 12 weeks straight now, dropping him all the way down from 1st to 5th.
I got 4th, which puts me at 97 points and a minimum of 99 for the season, which means I need yet another pointing to make it in the elite "Century Club" and join the few that have score 100 points in a season.
Nicole got 5th, which is helpful and every point counts right now, but she's still on the outside looking in, in sole possession of the 10th spot and a measly 3 points out.
Padma was the Bubble, tying with Mike at a high of 3 for the season.
There only 2 weeks left, but that's potentially 30 points for someone to ride a rush on and make a final push. Its shaping up to be yet another dramatic season end.

BPC Season 12 - Week 22

Week 22 winner is... Padma! And she did it using her classic heads up kung fu too. As soon as its down to two people, she fires away with reckless abandon. She didn't have to wait long this time, the very first heads up hand she got A-6 and shoved. I look down at pkt 4's... good enough, let's do this. Basically a coin flip (actually I'm ahead by a fraction 55% to 45%) and it was looking good all the way... up... to... the... river. Dagnabit, river 6 and I'm out in 2nd. The points are good enough to move us up into 2nd and 3rd place overall, respectively. Holla!
Jeremiah sashays his way to 3rd place, which is good enough to move him back into the Top 9, booting Judy out of the party in the process. He's in 9th and at 62 points right now, which projects to 70.5 for the season to make it in. (I think in the end it will be higher though.)
Bagu got 4th place, his 4th pointing in the last 6 showings since his return. He's got a 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th, and just needs a 2nd to hit for the cycle. He continues his steady climb up the ladder, moving from 19th to 15th, 20 points out. (If he would have bought his points, he would only be 12 points out.)
Steven got 5th and is now tied with Nicole in 11th, just 4 points out of the Top 9. Arjan was the Bubble Boy, his first of the season.
Just 3 weeks left in the season!!! But that's 45 first place points available, meaning EVERYONE can still make it in.
Final table weekend is Saturday 5/21.

BPC Season 12 - Week 21

The 5th and final Mini-Season starts off just like the last one ended (for me at least,) with my pocket Aces getting cracked. This time is was Arjan Uncle doing the honors, landing a two-outer Queen on the river to send me to the rail. Rude. So very rude.
But this isn't about me, its about this week's big winner... Kurticus!!! Its his second win in 3 weeks, and its enough to push him into the Top 9 for the first time since WEEK 4! Just 3 weeks ago he was in 18th place and 22 points out of contention. Well done. Unfortunately he had to knock Nicole out of the Top 9 to get there, on her birthday of all times too, so he's going to have some 'splaining to do.
Remo bags 2nd place and helps his cause considerably, but with only 4 weeks left in the season really needs to turn on the afterburners to make a run.
Karrie take 3rd and 9 points, moving Team KarJacked up and just 3 points out.
Ace-cracker Arjan takes my chips to 4th place and is 4 points out now.
Jeena got 5th, and Mike just misses an opportunity to extend his overall lead and instead is this week's Bubble Boy for a league leading 3rd time.
Just 4 weeks left in the seasons!!!
Week 25 is Thursday 5/5. (Yes, its on Cinco de drunko, so start chilling the Patron now.)
Final Table day 1 is Saturday 5/21. That's the 3rd weekend after the last game, a full 16 days later but its what we're left with. The first weekend is Mother's Day, and the second weekend Chester is out of town.

BPC Season 12 - Week 20

Ant has only played in about half of the games this season, but that doesn't mean he's forgotten how to play. He was last night's big winner, and the 15 points nearly double his season total. He's at 33 points now and climbing up the leaderboard, passing by Omar, Remo, David, The Milkman and Hee Hall, landing in 19th and 23 points out of the Top 9. With 5 weeks left, there's still time to find a way in. Heck that's only a 1st and a 3rd, or two 2nd places. (But then who would deal the Final Table?)
Chester has awoken and is on da roll. He nabs his third pointing in a row and back to back 2nd place, and passes by Charlie to move into 4th place just a point behind me. (Backoff!) I can now declare it... he becomes the 4th player to lock up a Final Table seat. Its also enough to give him a share of the bonus chips for Mini-Season 4. Bagu didn't play last night, but for the first time in BPC history he is going to buy his point, which means he and Chess will tie for the Mini-Season and split the bonus chips.
Padma took 3rd place, her 4th of the season and 7th pointing in total. She also moves past Charlie and is in 5th place, and probably locks up her first ever Final Table seat. But she's at 73 points, so her minimum is 78 and I can see a scenario where that may not be enough though, so I'm not ready to call it a lock just yet.
Charlie pointed last night too, with a 5th place finish, but because 4 of the 5 pointers were already in the Top 9, he drops down from 4th to 6th.
Newlius got 4th place, and although he doesn't pass Charlie or anyone else, he does come closer to securing his first ever spot at the Final Table. At 67 points and 5 weeks left, he's guaranteed at least 72 points. Another pointing would help his cause tremendously, or he needs to root for the people ahead of him or way at the bottom to soak up the remaining points. Not ready to call him a lock just yet.
9th place (Nicole, who was this week's Bubble Girl) is at 56 points right now, which projects to 70 points exactly. But the 5 people directly behind are less than a single 1st place finish behind so the final seats are far from set.
The final Mini-Season starts next week! 5 weeks left in the season, we're in the home stretch and as usual its shaping up to be an exciting finish!!!
