BPC Season 12 - Week 19

Kurticus takes firsticus! Its been a relatively quite season so far for Kurt, with a 2nd and a 5th place finish as his only pointings of the season, he has at times languished pretty far down the pack going into Week 19. But the 15 points are a shot in the arm for him, and jump him from 18th and 23 points out to 13th and just 9 points out of the Top 9. He passes by KarJacked, Papa Kumo, Potts, Bagu and Jeena. Kurticus is in the hunt.
Chess broke a 7 week cold streak last week with a 5th place finish, just enough to keep him in the Top 9 tied with Steve. He continues in the right direction this week with a 2nd place finish and is in 5th place overall, passing by Padma, Julius, Judy and Nicole, and kicking Steven out of the Top 9 on his birthday week of all times. Rude. Chess is now at 65 points now, and on the verge of claiming a Final Table seat. With 6 weeks left his minimum total is 71. That hasn't been enough to make it into the big show recently though, the last two seasons the bubble has been 72 and 73, and right now its tracking at 72.4, so he probably needs at least one more pointing to confirm a spot. Charlie, at 66 points currently, is in a similar boat.
After 5 weeks of silence Padma is back in the points with a 3rd place finish, and Papa-san sneaks in for 4th. Eric was the Scrappy 5th and Bagu was the Bubble Boy, cooling off his 3-pointing-in-a-row comeback he was riding. He is still in the lead for Mini-Season 4 though, with just one week left there's still 8 other people that can catch him.

BPC Season 12 - Week 18

Steven was last night's big winner, and the 15 points catapult him from 13th into the Top 9 for the first time this season, passing by Jeremiah, Arjan and KarJacked. Just barely in the Top 9 though, as he is tied with Chester for 9th place. However, had he bought the points for the 5 weeks he missed, he would be 6th place all by himself, and Chess would be on the outside looking in.
In the mean time, this season's eventual point champion Mike still has the pedal to the floor and comes in with a 2nd place finish yet again. Its his 4th pointing in a row, good for 36 points. He's at 96 points and is the first one to lock in a triple digit score this season.
Also riding a rush is Bagu, who has his 3rd pointing in a row with a 3rd place last night. He moves up yet again, from 19th to tied with Potts at 14th, and is in the lead for Mini-Season 4. Just 3 weeks ago he was in 24th with 7 points.
Newlius kept the focus again last night and it was good enough to get him into the 4th place spot. No movement up the leaderboard for him, but he does put some space in between himself and Judy. Chess sneaks in with the Scrappy 5th, just enough to keep him in the Top 9. Alan, who took half my chips with a nasty 3 outer river suck out, allowed me to build them back up, then took them all with an even nastier runner-runner, lands as this week's Bubble Boy.
Only 7 weeks left in the season!!!

BPC Season 12 - Week 17

It took him all the way to Week 17 to get there, but this year's eventual Points Champion Mike has finally made it to the top. His 4th place finish last night is enough to push him past Jagu, who remained idle for the sixth week in a row. Mike has made up 33 points in that time, and now holds on to a 3 point lead.
Bagu took down 1st last night, for his second pointing in a row after missing the prior 6 weeks. He's got some work to do, but the 18 points from the last 2 weeks is the right start to get him back to the Final Table. He's also in the lead for Mini-Season 4.
Judy got 2nd, for the third time this season and 4th pointing. The 12 points are huge and push her back into the Top 9, jumping from 11th all the way up to 6th, passing by Arjan, Jeremiah, Chess, Nicole and Padma along the way. Jeremiah gets shoved out of the Top 9.
Anthony seemed to have huge chips in front of him all night, even after doubling up Sungina's pkt Aces earlier in the night, and makes his way to 4th place. It's his first pointing of the season in 9 showings.
Charlie was the Scrappy 5th, and Chester was this week's Bubble Boy, his second of the season. After not pointing for the last 7 weeks, Chess finds himself in 9th place and at risk for dropping out of the Top 9 for the first time this season.

Many thanks to Kurt for hosting last night's game, and best wishes to Jeena for a speedy recovery. Kurt's place is always a great place for a game, and despite getting down to 3000 in chips very early in the night, I was able to crawl back for the win. This pushes me past Charlie and into 3rd place overall with 74 points. With 9 weeks left in the season, this should be good enough to guarantee me a return trip back to the Big Show. Yee haw!
Nicole got second, and she leapfrogs back into the Top 9, passing by Chess, Jeremiah, Arjan, Judy and KarJacked, landing firmly in 7th overall.
Papa Kumo got 3rd for his second pointing of the season, and this year's eventual points champion Mike moves even closer to his rightful spot at the top with a 4th place finish. He is now just a measely 2 points away from Jagu, who remains silent for the 5th week in a row. (Mike has made up 27 points in that timeframe.)
Bagu is back from his world travels and got 5th, and Kurt was the Bubble Boy, his second of the season.
