Season 20 - Week 7

[7:30]  "All i heard was something about JC being blown away by warm penis."  - Eric
"That was 'peanuts'  Warm peanuts."  - JC
Week 7 Winner... Padma!

Ok then.

[7:39]  Jeena raises preflop and gets a couple of callers.  Flop comes 9s-4d-3s.  JC sees something he likes and bets out 600, and Eric calls.  Jeena likes it even more and raises another 2000, enticing a fold from JC.  Eric calls and shows a straight draw and nut flush draw and Jeena shows pkt 3's for a set.  No help for Eric from there and he's down to 500.

[7:45]  Jeena is like butter and on da roll and rakes in another pot, taking a bunch of Ryan's chips and the rest of Eric's.  Rebuy!  Rebuy!  (He does.)

[7:46]  Remo, who brought the food, is out at Table 1.  Somehow I get the genius idea to talk him into doing a rebuy.  After much reluctance he does.

[8:02]  "Last chance for a rebuy!"  - Eric
Flop comes J-J-rag and Eric shoves for 3200.
"I'm so sorry Eric, it's my night"  - Jeena, just before calling and showing pkt J's for flopped quads.

Eric actually has a runner-runner straight flush draw, but no luck and he's out.  Rebuy!  Rebuy!  (He does.)

[8:12]  "Is Chester out?  Is he out?  No, really?"  - Someone
"Yep, and I just won another 10 bucks."  - Potts

Padma gets her third pointing and first win of the Season by taking down Week 7.  Congrats Padma!  The win pushes her from tied at 12th all the way up to sole 2nd place (and ahead of me, dernit.)  7 weeks and 7 different winners.  Who will be the first to double up?  (Hint:  Me.)

Remo pulls down the second place, almost becoming the second person to win after a rebuy (which he was so reluctant to do.)  It's his first pointing of the season, but only his third time playing.

Jeena rode her good cards and good playing to 3rd place, separating herself from a 3-way tie for 9th up to solo 4th.

And we have a new sheriff in town... Brice gets his third pointing of the season with a 4th place, and it's enough to move him into 1st overall (and ahead of me, dernit.)

Eric parlayed his multiple rebuys into a 5th place finish and 3 points, and Mike was the Bubble Boy.

Season 20 - Week 6

Sorry this is really late, seems like whenever there's a holiday involved the whole supply chain of info gets mucked up.
Week 6 sad and pensive
Winner... Kurticus!!!

Speaking of mucked up, I had the rare opportunity to put a nasty beat on two of my favorite people, Chess and Judy...

It's getting close to the third level and before the hand Chess leans over and whispers to me, "you can still rebuy."  Well gee thanks for the advice Miss, breath mint?

That's what I said on the outside at least, especially because, even though I was down I still had plenty of chips.  In my head at least.  Deal comes and I get pkt-9's.  Ok, I can work with that.  There was some minor pre-flop betting and then the flop comes 9-K-Q rainbow.  Bingo, flopped a set!  Not necessarily the ideal flop with all the connectors, but at least it hit me squarely and hopefully me and no one else.  Me, me, me!

Judy shoves all-in for about 2700.  Well there goes me.  Wait no, it's Judy, she's probably on a draw right?  So I smooth call her, thinking very seriously about raising ahead of Chess to get him out and isolate so he doesn't catch something stupid, because he ain't got a piece of that flop, those cards are way too high for him.

Chester not-so-smooth raises about 8,000.

Crap.

I'm getting that not-so-fresh feeling about this hand very quickly and the spidey senses feel over-caffinated.  Probably time to let this hand go.

"You can still rebuy... rebuy... rebuy...

"... rebuy... rebuy..."  [reverb echo in my head]

Oh yeah, good point Mr. Short Term Memory, thanks for that.  Where've you been by the way?  I miss you.  Right about that time the buzzer goes off for the next level.  Time for a decision.

Better double check on the rebuy, that may have been two hands ago.  "Chess, we can still rebuy, right?"

"Oh yeah" he said, with his big Chess-ire cat grin.

Disturbing.  Ok, why not, I got outs no matter what they have. So I put the rest of my chips in.  Judy shows K-Q for top two pair.  Better than I put her on but I'm still ahead, for now.  After the call I was hoping to hear a "fk you" or "you're ahead, but a deuce is coming" or something comforting like that from Chess but instead he shows what I was most afraid of, 10-J for a flopped straight.

I still got outs, but I'm reaching for the rebuy money.  Pair the board, pair the board!

Flop comes rag.  Dernit.  River comes... 9!!!  Giving me a very handsome two pair (ok quads.)  Cha-ching!  Narwhals!

That was the best hand of the night for me, the rest of the night was spent nursing a very average stack all the way to the less than fabulous Bubble.

[8:50]  Eric shoves pre-flop for about 3000.  Tempting but I fold.  Charlie wakes up from a dealing sleep and sees the bet.  "Wait, I don't even have to look."  Go gurl.  "How much again?"  3000 Charlie.  "Ok I need to look."  [looks]  "Ok I call," and shows 5c-6c.

Oh I see, you had to look and make sure your two unders were suited.  I like your style.  Eric turns over and shows Ace wait wuh? ... 5-6 off-suit?  Well isn't that special.

I wish I could say the flush came, but instead they both river of all things a straight.  (Not every story has to end with a bang, right?)

[8:30 Table 1]  "Chess is an A-hole.  Brice, what is A-hole in English?"  - Eric
"A-hole."  - Brice

Bang.

[9:13]  "Can I get a Floorman!"  - Kurt yelling.
"Yeah, me too!"  - Mike, in the hand with Kurt
"Chess, Floorman!!!  I don't like how he's playing."  - Kurt
"Mike, you have to ante."  - Chess, not even looking up from his cards.

Well played.

[9:18]  Flop comes Qs-8d-2d.  Kurt shoves all-in, Charlie reluctantly folds, and Mike goes into the tank.
"I think my hand is actually good."  - Mike
"You have A-8."  - Kurt
"No, I call with that."  - Mike
"Really?  I learn about you more every day."  - Kurt
(For the record, Mike folds and the Dealer (Charlie) runs it.  Kurt shows Q-J for top pair, and Charlie shows folded flush.)

[9:26]  "OMG HE'S SUCH A DONKEY!!!!" - Jeena
My, that was loud (thus the caps and 4 exclaimation points.)
Who?  Eric?  No, he's already out.  Mike?  No he just scooped a pot.  Potts?  Yeah, but no, he's not here.

"Chess!!!  OMG Chess you're such a DONKEY!  You were never ahead in any hand you won tonight!"  - Jeena, excused from Table 1.

Thankfully she didn't see my earlier hand with Chess ahead 70% on the flop and 80% on the turn.  But yeah, outside of that one hand apparently he was donkey kong all night.

Donkester was able to donk-hee-haw his way to the Final Table for the first time this season, and get all the way to heads up with Kurt.  I don't know how Kurt won it, but in my notes I have in quotes "Domers" and "Quad Chuckles" so maybe someone can piece it together for me.

Regardless, Kurticus becomes the 6th different winner in the first 6 weeks of this, the 20th Season of the BPC.  Congrats Kurt!  It's his first pointing of the season and vaults him up from tied at 17th (with Chess) to tied for 5th with tonight's nemesis, Mike.

Donkester gets his first pointing of the season with 2nd, and moves up from tied at 17th to into the Top 9, into a three-way tie for 9th with Andy and tonight's nemesis, Jeena.

Brice, who I actually thought was going to win the night, pulled in a healthy 3rd place and jumps ahead of Mike and Steven Earl and into sole 2nd place.  (He missed Week 2 and would be tied with me for 1st place if he'd had bought his point.  Whew.)

Charlie, who so far is in the lead for Dealer of the Season, is also the first one with 3 pointings.  His 4th place this week moves him from tied for 11th and into the Top 9 at 4th place.

Jagu got his second pointing with the Scrappy 5th, and as mentioned I was this week's Bubble Btch.

2nd Place... Chester!

4th Place... Techno Dance Viking Charlie!

Scrappy 5th Place... Jagu!

Season 20 - Week 5

Week 5 Winner and
part time model... Andy!

Andy missed the last couple of weeks but came back strong for the win in Week 5, the final week of the first Mini-Season of this, the 20th season of the BPC.  Good job Andy, congrats.

It pushes him into the Top 9 with the 4 other winners so far, making a sizable leap from 24th to tied for 6th.  My, my what a win can do.  (If he would have bought his points for the two missing weeks, he'd be tied with Mike in 3rd.  Will he regret those missing point towards the end of the season?  Someone always does.)

He battled it out heads up with Allan U, who got 2nd and his second pointing of the season and who moves up from 14th to, you guessed it, tied with Andy in the 6th spot.

I was able to finagle my way to the final money spot in 3rd place, which is also good enough to just squeak me past Steven Earl to win the first Mini-Season and those delicious Final Table bonus chips.  Shawarma!

Amir follows up last week's 3rd place finish with a 4th place this week, and moves up from 12th to 5th.

Ryan got the scrappy 5th place for his first pointing of the season, and Charlie was the Bubble Boy.

2nd Place... Allan U!

3rd Place... Kumo!

4th Place... Amir!

Season 20 - Week 4

[7:50 pm]  "Where is everyone again, it's another short night."  - Someone

"Well Kurt and Jeremiah are out in Mammoth."  - Eric

"Really?"  - Someone (incredulously)

"Yeah, Nicole was ok with it."  - Eric

That's all I really got for you this week, it was the first and last funny thing I heard before my set got taken out and along with it all my chips.

I can report to you that Chess went out early again.  Thanks in large part to getting out played by Steven Earl, who called Chess down with pkt 5's and about 14 over cards on the board.

Here's how they finished:
