BPC Season 14 - Week 1
----------------------
Season 14 kicked of with some fireworks on the very first hand. Ed, new player and grandpa of Karrie, finds himself with pkt deuces and the board comes 2-A-3. A flopped set is never a bad thing, right? I'm not sure how the betting went, but the pot got big quickly with Padma along for the ride, all the way to the river when the board pairs the 3. He wasn't all in, but it was a big pot. Ed shows his 2's full of 3's, and Padma shows... Aces full. Set over set on the flop. Doh. There's a term for that I think, but this is a family show so I'll refrain from using it. Let's just say its painful if you're on the wrong side of it.
The very next hand, only the second hand dealt in this very new season, Ed goes all in with top pair Aces. Jagu calls with a flush draw, and hits on the river. Double doh. Rude. Aren't the new guys supposed to win?
Speaking of winning, Fkamiah takes down the win last night starting the season off right.
Papa Kumo follows up his 2nd place kiddie table showing with a 2nd place, and Potts got 3rd.
Cowboy Slick Rick was 4th. Jeff Hee Hall and Remo will be playing as team Heemo this year. Remo played for the team in Week 1, and survived numerous all-in's on the bubble zone to get the scrappy 5th.
I was the bubble.
Teams this season:
Hee Hall + Remo = Heemo
Charlie + Earl = Churl
Karrie + Jaclyn + Kelly = KarJackly

Season 13 - Week 25
BPC Season 13 - Week 25
-----------------------
And there we have it folks, lucky number Season 13 is in the books!!! Lock it. There's no way I can do it justice now, this write up is so very, very late, and so is the time, but if I don't do it now it may never get done.
Let's start with the winner of this, the final week of the season... none other than... REMO!!! Nicely done Remopolis! Its only his 3rd pointing of the season in 21 tries, but his other 2 were 2nd places, so when he gets close, he knows how to finish.
Coming in second was this season's dream trio... KarJackly!!! They came into the final week as the points leader, and no one else within striking distance pointed so they had it locked up. Was that good enough for them? Hells no. They (and by "they" I mean Karrie) just went ahead and got an additional 12 points for the team. Way to rub our collective noses into it. And way to make the Century Club.
Point being, our Points Champion for Season 13 is... 3 chicks.
Awesome. Way to make it tough on the plaque engraver. How in the Fkamiah are they going to fit 3 names on that little 1"x1/2" little rectangle? Think I'll go ahead and blast some Dixie Chicks and watch some Charlie's Angels while poor mister engraver figures it out.
Just kidding. I'm actually listening to Glee.
In the meantime, let's just break down the magic 3-way that is KarJackly, in the only way I know how... tabular form...
Player Games Pts Avg

Kelly 9 41 4.56

Yeah i could have went with pictures, but I'm a gleek. You feeling me? Point is, the beeyatches done beeyatch-slap all of us.
CONGRATS KARJACKLY!!!!! WELL DONE!!!! Smooches.
Yeah, I'm bitter. Only because I won't be there at the Final Table. But that's another story. But seriously, congrats ladies, if it couldn't be me, then I can't think of any other 3 chick combo that I would have picked. Plus, you ensured that Chess didn't win, which means extra prop bets for me and Fkamiah. And on top of that, Club 99 remains extremely exclusive. Extremely. Members only please.
Coming in 3rd for Week 25 was our very own Cowboy Slick Rick. Let the record reflect that CSR only played in the last 13 weeks of the season, enough to earn him a cheap buy in to the second table, but he also averaged 4.23 points in the 13 weeks he played. That's more than everyone else except for this season's Points Championchicks, KarJackly. (Let the record also reflect that my boy Ant was in 3rd with a 4.14 avg. Law skool is so over-rated Ant, come back to your true calling.)
Coming in 4th for the week was perennial but semi-retired Champ Jeff Spongebob Hall. I think he's taken home a trophy in just about every season he's played in, so let's hope he comes back for a full season soon to defend his tiara.
And finally coming in the scrappy 5th place was Fkamiah, picking up the exact number of points he needed to land on the Top 9 bubble. Which means he gets top chip stack at the second table and a big atta-boy from the rest of us.
Mike was Bubble Boy for the week, which stings a little bit, but he also ended up placing in 4th overall, AND won the 5th and final Mini-Season, taking away the sting slightly and giving him more than enough to win the Final Table. Or at the very least place in the top 3. Any bets?
Congrats everyone again who made it to the Final Table, and thank you thank you thank you thank you to the Burnett's for hosting another wonderful BPC season.

Season 13 - Week 24
BPC Season 13 - Week 24
-----------------------
Lightning has struck again. Chess, tied on the Final Table bubble with 2 two others, and tied for last in the Best Dress race, takes it down last night.
Needless to say, those points are ginormous for him. They lock him a seat at the Final Table, and he's all but assured that he will not be wearing a dress next season, unless its by choice of course. It would take a perfect storm of the other 4 finishing in perfect order, and even then there would be a tie.
Mike was in the same position, tied for the last Final Table spot, and tied for last in the Best Dressed. Enough of that, he says, and takes down 2nd place last night. He's rushing at the right time, its his 5th pointing in 7 weeks, for a total of 50 points. He's locked in a return trip to the Final Table, and he's gotta be feeling a little good about his place in the Best Dressed race with 3 people behind him and only 1 week left.
Eric is riding a rush too, with 6 pointings in the last 9 weeks for 48 points. (And technically it was only 8 weeks since he was out for one of them.) He too has locked in a seat with a minimum of 81 points with his 3rd place finish last night. (Actually I think there's a scenario where he would get booted, but don't bet on it.)
Potts slips in at 4th place, but its going to be too little, too late. He's mathematically eliminated from both the Final Table, and from beating Chess in their head-to-head bet. And he also has to be worried about Chess winning the Points Championship, which would double the loss.
Bagu was the scrappy 5th, and Padma was the Bubble, her second of the season.
As a side note, Cayce wins the Last Longer Bracket challenge by outlasting everyone in the weekly head-to-head match ups, and takes home a cool $320.
I'm sure if we ask nicely again, Fkamiah will be kind enough to provide the if-then scenarios for the final week of Season 13. I will tell you that everyone behind me is eliminated.

Season 13 - Week 23
BPC Season 13 - Week 23
-----------------------
The results of Week 23 have already been sent out, so I don't know how much more is left to say. Which is a good thing because I'm at a complete loss of words with the way the end of this season has headed.
But since I have your attention, let's start with what in my country they call, the (near) perfect storm. Both Steven and Mike started the first TWO Mini-Seasons with zero pointings. Goose-egged for 10 straight weeks of countless taunting. Steven missed Week 11, so got nothing but a bought point for that one, and finally made it to the points for the first time in Week 12, almost exactly half way through the season.
Not to be out done, Mike extended it and went 13 straight weeks until his first pointing in Week 14. By that time Jules, Kurt and Chess had amassed a 52, 46 and 44 point lead respectively. A 52 point lead!!! That difference at the half way points is more than respected players like Potts, Nicole and Arjan have all season to date... after 23 weeks!
But Mike started his charge 6 weeks ago and has 4 pointings in that time, with two 2nds and two 4ths for 38 points. Steven got a healthy 2nd place last week, and follows it up this week with an outright win.
Get 'er done.
In the meantime Jules, after starting the season with guns blazing, is nursing a 12 week cold spell, and Chess is working on a respectable 11 week one himself.
All that combined means that Steven and Mike have now crawled out from the bowels of the BPC cellar and into the Top 9. And in the Race for the Dress, Mike has pulled into a tie with Chester for the final spot. Steven is smack dab in the middle, 3 points behind the two in front of him (Kurt and Jules) and 3 points ahead of the two behind him (Mike and Chess.) Never let them see you sweat.
I can't take this. You hear that Elizabeth? This is the big one, I'm coming to join you!
Rick got 3rd, his 5th pointing in only 11 weeks of play. Mathematically he's not out of finding a way into the Top 9 this season, but it would take another perfect storm. But he's shown he's going to be a contender for next season and one to watch for if he plays for a full season.
And speaking of contenders, Cayce points for the 4th week in a row, this time with a 4th place, and has pulled within a single point of our overall leaders, Team KarJackly! This just after he said he has played his last weekly game of the season. Possum. Not to mention, he missed two weeks that he didn't buy the points for. If he had, he'd be in the overall lead.
Eric pulls the scrappy 5th place, and its huge for him. Had he bubble'd, he'd be in a 4 way tie for the final Top 9 spot. With the extra scrappy points though, he's pulled into solo 7th and has a projected minimum of 73 points. Not necessarily a lock, but might be good enough, and more importantly there's two open spots behind him.
Dennis was the Bubble, his 2nd of the season.
So after 23 weeks, there's still so much to be determined. No one is safe in the the Race for the Dress, and the final spots in the Top 9 are wide open.
With 2 weeks left, maybe Fkamiah will bless us with his seasonal if-then scenarios. Everyone ask nicely.

Season 13 - Week 22
BPC Season 13 - Week 22
-----------------------
Godfodder out of the Top 9? I don't think so, honey badger don't play that way. Sure he dipped his toes out in the cold for the last couple of weeks, mostly just to toy with us I imagine. Who really believed that was gonna last? He straight up b-slapped the rest of the field and brought the tamale home with the win and top cash last night. Come to butthead.
The win takes him from 10th to 3rd overall, passing right by Julius, Chess, Fkamiah, Eric, Kurt, Jeena and Papa Kumo. 7, count them 7 players he just pased.
With 75 points and a minimum of 78 for the season, he's locked up a seat in the big show. There I said it, its locked.
What's far from locked however, is the heated Race for the Dress. Mike has been putting in work recently with 3 pointings in the last 5 weeks for 26 points. But not so fast sweet cheeks, says Earl, who comes in with a solid 2nd place. Just enough to put him back into a tie with Mike. A tie. Whodat calling? Drama, dats who. And he's brought a date named Suspense.
Kurt was running really hot for most of the night, and after rudely plowing through most of the chumps at Table 3, he came to the final table with a few things... an 11 week point-free streak, a tie for the lead for most bubbles, and a very robust chip stack. (Yes Kurt, you have 3 bubbles, not 4. Dunno wus you talking about Willis.)
Somehow come bubble-o'clock though, he ends up forced to go all in for his tournament life, this time with A-6 against Jagu, Jagu's A-K, and Jagu's Tutankhamun-like stack. Time to take the long walk of shame home? Nope, Kurt hits his thin outer to double up and eventually survives long enough to make it to 3rd. Good for him, he's taken more than his share of nasty beats this season.
And its exactly enough to take him past Chess and into a tie with Julius for the lead in the Race for the Dress. A tie. For the lead. Julius has now been silent for the last 11 weeks straight, the longest active streak in the league.
Cayce holds on long enough for 4th, inching himself closer to his stated goal of breaking into the Century Club. Just 13 more points to go. Or with a 3rd in the last 3 weeks he can earn himself entrance into the supremely exclusive Club 99. (Did I mention there was a membership fee?)
And taking the scrappy 5th was... me. :( Dub-tee-eff. Shoved with pkt 9's, and end up getting called by Jagu and his 9-7. Sweet, 86+% chance to win? Couldn't ask for anything more. Except for maybe not seeing a 7 on the flop and another one on the river. A two-outer away from a double up and moving into 2nd or 3rd in chips. Way to use the whole fist there, doc.
This game. This eff'n game.
Welp, there's just 3 weeks left in the season for this eff'n game, and the first 5 spots (KarJackly, Cayce, Jagu, Julius and Kurt) are locked in with a minumum of 77 points or better.
Everyone from 6th through 9th though should still be a little worred. As an example, Steven is currently in 15 place overall, but would move up to 6th place with a win. Everyone ahead of him would do even better.
3 weeks left in the season!!! Time to get yer giddy up on!
