Godfodder out of the Top 9? I don't think so, honey badger don't play that way. Sure he dipped his toes out in the cold for the last couple of weeks, mostly just to toy with us I imagine. Who really believed that was gonna last? He straight up b-slapped the rest of the field and brought the tamale home with the win and top cash last night. Come to butthead.
The win takes him from 10th to 3rd overall, passing right by Julius, Chess, Fkamiah, Eric, Kurt, Jeena and Papa Kumo. 7, count them 7 players he just pased.
With 75 points and a minimum of 78 for the season, he's locked up a seat in the big show. There I said it, its locked.
What's far from locked however, is the heated Race for the Dress. Mike has been putting in work recently with 3 pointings in the last 5 weeks for 26 points. But not so fast sweet cheeks, says Earl, who comes in with a solid 2nd place. Just enough to put him back into a tie with Mike. A tie. Whodat calling? Drama, dats who. And he's brought a date named Suspense.
Kurt was running really hot for most of the night, and after rudely plowing through most of the chumps at Table 3, he came to the final table with a few things... an 11 week point-free streak, a tie for the lead for most bubbles, and a very robust chip stack. (Yes Kurt, you have 3 bubbles, not 4. Dunno wus you talking about Willis.)
Somehow come bubble-o'clock though, he ends up forced to go all in for his tournament life, this time with A-6 against Jagu, Jagu's A-K, and Jagu's Tutankhamun-like stack. Time to take the long walk of shame home? Nope, Kurt hits his thin outer to double up and eventually survives long enough to make it to 3rd. Good for him, he's taken more than his share of nasty beats this season.
And its exactly enough to take him past Chess and into a tie with Julius for the lead in the Race for the Dress. A tie. For the lead. Julius has now been silent for the last 11 weeks straight, the longest active streak in the league.
Cayce holds on long enough for 4th, inching himself closer to his stated goal of breaking into the Century Club. Just 13 more points to go. Or with a 3rd in the last 3 weeks he can earn himself entrance into the supremely exclusive Club 99. (Did I mention there was a membership fee?)
And taking the scrappy 5th was... me. :( Dub-tee-eff. Shoved with pkt 9's, and end up getting called by Jagu and his 9-7. Sweet, 86+% chance to win? Couldn't ask for anything more. Except for maybe not seeing a 7 on the flop and another one on the river. A two-outer away from a double up and moving into 2nd or 3rd in chips. Way to use the whole fist there, doc.
This game. This eff'n game.
Welp, there's just 3 weeks left in the season for this eff'n game, and the first 5 spots (KarJackly, Cayce, Jagu, Julius and Kurt) are locked in with a minumum of 77 points or better.
Everyone from 6th through 9th though should still be a little worred. As an example, Steven is currently in 15 place overall, but would move up to 6th place with a win. Everyone ahead of him would do even better.
3 weeks left in the season!!! Time to get yer giddy up on!
