BPC Season 10 - Week 23
-----------------------
Conventional wisdom has always been that 70 points gets you into the big show at the Final Table. But its looking more and more like that may not be the case this year, probably due to a combination of overall fewer players on average, and no one really running away with the points. I had thought we would learn a lot more after last night's game, but we really didn't. Its still a really tight race, and basically for most people going into the last 3 weeks of the season, IF YOU WIN - YOU'RE IN. (Huh huh, he said urine.)
There are some exceptions though. After last night's game we do now have some people that are officially out of contention for the Top 9. Everyone from 18th place and beyond are OUT and will be hosting the second table. Notables include Padma, SoupOrSalad, Arjan, KarrieCake and Judy. Judy has just 2 weeks left to avoid becoming the first player ever to go coast to coast without pointing. I know I'm rooting for you Judy! (And everyone in 18th place and beyond for that matter.)
Last season's champion Hee Hall has had his share of ups and downs this season, including back to back bubbles a couple of weeks ago, but he was able to outlast everyone last night and the 15 point are huge. He's at 76 total and 4th place overall, pretty much guaranteeing him a chance to defend his title.
Tuan got 2nd place, and those 12 points are equally huge for him. After lingering in the cellar for most of the season, he's now at 58 points and tied with Sungina, Jeena and The Cup at 15th place. They all still have a shot at it with a win.
I got 3rd for the second week in a row, and have finally snuck back in to the Top 9, tied with Potts at a precarious 68 points. That ain't gonna cut it and I think we both need another pointing to secure a spot. Potts got 5th place, and those critical 3 points keep him in the Top 9, while Jagu and Jeremiah have been pushed out, at least temporarily.
Eric got 4th, and he's now in 3rd place overall at 77 and has locked up his first ever seat at the Final Table. The Milkman has finally delivered. Jeena was the bubble.
Kurt's streak is now at 8 weeks with no pointings, but at 84 points he's not being threatened and is still in the hunt for the points title. But he's going to have to get by Bagu to do it, who unfortunately did not get to play last night to ride the rush he's been on. Chess has had a very quiet 10 week period and has slipped down to 5th place.

Season 10 - Week 22
BPC Season 10 - Week 22
-----------------------
And we have a new leader! After having a near stranglehold on the overall top spot for most of the season, Kurt is in the middle of a cold spell and has blanked for 7 weeks in a row. Meanwhile The Professor has pointed in 3 of the last 4 weeks, including 2 wins. Last night's win puts him at 92, 9 points ahead of Kurt. Chester is stuck in neutral too, with only one pointing (a 5th) in the last 9 outings, allowing a whole pack of peeps to creep up on him.
Ruby got second after surviving numerous all in's and she's now knocking on the door of the Top 9, just one measly point out. This after missing 6 weeks of the season, and not buying those points. If she had, she'd be tied for 5th overall. I got third and I'm still pretty far down the road waiting for my invite to the partay. I should have gotten first, but there was just too much Tejwani 5th dimension power working against me. Hee got 4th, and Earl got the scraps for his 3rd pointing in a row, and 4 of the last 6. Sungina was the bubble girl.
Every point counts as things are bunched up even more after last night's game, especially near the bubble.
The 7th through 11th spots are separated by just 3 points.
The 10th through 16th place people can jump up to 3rd or 4th overall with just a single win.
Only 3 weeks left in the season.
Final Table is Saturday May 15th and Sunday May 16th.

Season 10 - Week 20
BPC Season 10 - Week 20
-----------------------
[9:12] First man down. Omar min raises under the gun with K-10 and gets 3 callers. Flop comes K-rag-rag and feeling pretty good he bets out 400 hoping for a call. Eric pops it to 1500, which is almost half his stack. Everyone else gets out of the way and Omar thinks for a bit, then puts Eric all in. O shows his K-10 and Eric shows pkt Aces. Turn is another rag, and the river is... a 10 for the 3-outer and we are one Milkman down.
Let the record reflect that I lost with pkt K's 3 times last night within the first hour. The first one I just smooth called from the gun and flop comes 4-4-6. Sunj does some sly betting from the big blind the whole way through and I end up mucking them on the river because there were just too many things out there that the big blind could easily have beat me with, set, straight etc. Turns out she didn't have it though, well played, my fault. The second one was my fault too, I ended up calling her not believing she had the A that hit, and she did. Damn, 0-2. And the third one happened a few minutes later when we collapsed tables, but I mucked right when the Ace hit, which was good because just about everyone else on the table had an Ace. So no complaints, other than shouldn't Kings be win-able once in a while? Can we play Kings are wild for the rest of the season?
[9:35] Earl: "Man, I don't know if I'm down with this music." [Bob Marley playing]
Sunj: "Why, what's wrong with it?"
Earl: "Its all Club Med and sht. I think people are about to do the fist pump."
Conga line anyone?
[9:42] Ruby bets out 1500 and Omar shoves for 12,000. What the??!?? Ruby thinks for a bit before finally calling and shows pkt Q's, while Omar shows pkt 9's. "Red Queen, red Queen!!!" she screams, and nothing comes. Its a cover, Omar is out and Ruby is at about 38,000.
[10:20] Sunj and Earl end up all in with a J-Q-6 board, Earl has Q-10 and Sunj has A-Q. Ace on the turn, and river comes a King.
Earl: "Chop!!!"
Table: "Uh, you won dude."
Huge pot, Sungina is out, and Earl is at about 37,000.
[10:29] Ok, ok, I finally got one and can't say I never get a suck out on anyone. I was getting short stacked after giving a bunch to Kurticus Masochist. Blinds are 300 and there's 4 callers ahead of me, so I shove for 4900 with A-8. Folds all the way around to Chess who thinks for a bit while he counts his chips. Only around 8000, cool he can't possibly call if he's thinking this long. "Call." What? Really? Damnit. He shows A-10 and I'm in trouble. Flop comes 7-9-Q, not great. Turn is a Q, giving me some chop outs. Bagu comes over and yells for an 8, and sure enough it comes. Yippee! Thanks Bugs, I owe you one. I double up, and Chess is down low but doubles up through Jeremiah on the very next hand, and has a near double up a couple of hands after that. Crazy game. He did get me back later in the night though, calling my all-in at the final table with his suited 10-6 and rivering the flush. Spanky spanky.
[10:50] Nicole is getting short stacked and shoves pre-flop, getting a call from Ruby with A-9. Jack's and 9's have been hitting ALL NIGHT and the flop comes 9-9-6. Wow, ship it. But wait! Nicole has pkt 6's! Increduloso.
[11:53] Earl: "Damn, that last drink was nasty."
Nicole: "What do you have now?"
Earl: "Capt and vitamin water."
Table: "Brugh"
Earl: "Dude, I need my electrolytes."
Bagu ends up winning the night, and the 15 points are huge for him, boosting him up to solo 2nd place just 5 points behind Kurt. Earl got 2nd, and now he's in a four-way tie for 9th place with Sungina, Jeena and The Cup. Nicole got 3rd, Jackosalad got 4th and Chess slips in 5th, ending his 5 week dry spell. Hee Hall was the bubble boy.
Sungina wins the 250,00 bonus chips for the mini season.

Season 10 - Week 19
BPC Season 10 - Week 19
-----------------------
[8:56] Two tables, 20 players, and we have our first man down. Board is 2-2-6 with four way action and somehow there's 5000 in the pot, and Potts shoves for about 6000 more. Folds all the way around to Chester, who tanks for a long, long time. "Dang, I can't believe I'm going to muck my deuce." Someone does him a flavor flave and calls a clock, and he uses 29.57 seconds of it before declaring "OK, I call," showing 2-3. I can see the dilemma, can't be too proud of that kicker, but it ends up being the right call as Potts shows pkt 10's. Potts is drawing real thin and when the 7 hits on the turn he's down to two outs. River comes... 10.
Ouch, you gotta love those 2-outers. Potts collects the bounty, and Chess is sent to the online room. That's the 6th blank week in a row for Chess, the longest of the season for him and another missed opportunity to make up some ground on our overall leader Kurt, who has gone dormant for 4 weeks in a row now.
Sungina ends up winning the night, and with her 2nd place last week she's back in the Top 9, tied with Jeena and The Cup for the ninth and final spot. She's also in the lead for the Mini-Season 4, going into the last game tonight.
The Milkman got second, and the 12 points vault him up to 2nd place overall, tied at 68 points with Chess and pretty much locking in his seat at the Final Table.
Omar got third for back to back pointings, and is in sole possession of 4th place overall, still within striking distance of everything including the Mini-Season and the overall lead.
Potts had gone 6 weeks without any points, but he's able to put Chester's chips to some use and come in 4th for the week, and Bagu, after bubbling for the 3rd time last week, is able to pick up the scraps of 5th. Ruby bubbles for the first time this season.
There is a game TONIGHT (Friday). Its the last game of Mini-Season 4 and there's still 6 players in contention for the 250,000 bonus chips. Including tonight, there's only 6 weeks left in the season!

There is a game TONIGHT (Friday). Its the last game of Mini-Season 4 and there's still 6 players in contention for the 250,000 bonus chips. Including tonight, there's only 6 weeks left in the season!
