BPC Season 11 - Week 16
-----------------------
Week 16 and we start the fourth Mini-Season with fireworks. Very early in the night, Chess raises pre-flop to 550 out of position, and Kurt calls. Flop comes Ah 3h 4h. Chess checks and Kurt bets 550. Chess calls, and turn comes 3s. Chess checks again and Kurt bets out another 550. Chess shoves and Kurt snap calls with pkt 4's for the boat. Chess says "I have outs" and shows pkt 10's. Ant says "No, you have AN out, I mucked a 10." River comes... 10.
Doh!
Not too much later, flop comes 2-6-9 and Jac-o-Karrie checks to Mike, who bets out 600. Jackedup makes it 2600, and Mike hollywoods a bit until finally pushing all in. Snap called, and Mike shows pkt 2's for the bottom set, and Jackoffski shows pkt 3's for better set. Ouch, the dreaded set over set, not much you can do. No help comes, and Mike is sent to the rail.
Not much after that, Judy turns a set of 9's, and Earl rivers a set of Jack's. Ouch again. Judy is out. (Although this one was slightly different, there was a straight and a flush draw on the board.)
"What's a 7 do?" - Earl, after catching a 4 card straight all in with his pkt 10's, against Arjan's all-in pkt K's and Jagu's pkt Q's.
(Editor's note: I was to be paid off by an unnamed benefactor if I could refer to Earl as The Big Wind instead of Hurricane for the rest of the season. Sounded good to me, I have no journalistic morals, but it just doesn't stick so no soup for me.)
Earl was able to last to 5th place for the night, after having a chip roller coaster ride. The 3 points help keep him in the overall lead, but an old foe is on his tail yet again. Potts, perhaps a little grumpy after dropping down a few spots after the Thursday game, is back in the winner's circle, besting Nicole in heads up play. The 15 points puts him back in 2nd place overall, just 3 points behind the Hurricane.
Nicole ends her 6 week skid with a nice 2nd place. The 12 points pushes her back into the Top 9 for the first time since Week 10. Chester could not capitalize off of Kurt's ill gotten chips, and extends his point-less streak to 7 weeks. Chess is now out of the Top 9 for the first time all season, and probably the first time in many seasons. I don't expect that to last very long. Please people, whatever you do, don't place any bet of any sort with him on this, we've seen what the consequences of that have been in the past.
Sungina is also out of the Top 9 for the first time since Week 7.
Julius makes a rare but always welcomed showing, and finishes in 3rd place for the night, and Jack-o-lope finally contributes to Team KarJacked with a 4th place finish and 6 points. They are now in 4th place overall.
Padma was the bubble, her third of the season (tying Hee Hall for most so far.)
9 weeks to go, and its still anyone's race.

Season 11 - Week 15
BPC Season 11 - Week 15
-----------------------
And the cold streak is over! Kurticus Masochist snaps out in K-Large fashion, taking down the week after being very short stacked with just pennies in front of him. I had him all in and against the ropes heads up too, with pkt J's against Ace-dookie, but a river Ace gave him the large chip lead and eventually the win. A big win, but surprisingly it only pushes him up from 18th to 15th, slipping by Jagu and Mortimer along the way.
The second place puts me in sole possession of 2nd place overall, 6 points behind The Big Wind, who didn't do much last night but talk big and go out early. Maybe the $50 bounty Potts put on him had something to do with it. It may have worked, but Potts wasn't able to live up to his end of the deal and get points for the night, so the Mini-Season goes to The Big Wind. Well done, help yourself out to some bonus chips.
Jeremiah was short stacked too, but got on a little suck out streak (a big one against Mike if I recall, but I don't remember the hand specifically) and was able to claw his way to 3rd place for the night. He was in 10th place and on the outside looking in to start the night, but the 9 points pushes him up to 3rd place overall, all by his lonesome. Potts drops down from 2nd to 4th overall.
Fourth place goes to Bagu. I think I saw him play one hand.
And Anthony got the 3 points for the scrappy 5th, good enough to vault him past Guest 1 and Guest 2 and out from the cellar.
Mike had a lot of chips for most of the night, but got some brutal beats near the end and ends up as the bubble.
Chess and Nicole now hold the longest active point-less streak at 6 weeks and counting (among regular players at least.) Last longer anyone?
Double Header week means we get to do it all over again tonight! Yee-haw!

Season 11 - Week 14
BPC Season 11 - Week 14
-----------------------
Hurricane Earl may have just brushed by North Carolina on its way up the east coast, but BPC's very own hurricane Earl is on a complete smack down on Taffeta. He had chips from the get go, kept accumulating them all night, and by the end he had everyone's.
The first place and 15 points are massive for Steve, extending his overall lead to 15 points, pretty much the largest anyone has had all season, and pretty much guaranteeing him a seat at the Final Table. (It hard to tell what the cutoff is going to be this year, last year was the first time we broke the 70-and-you're-in rule, but even if he doesn't point again for the rest of the season he'll still have 76 points. That's gotta be safe. Maybe.)
It also gives him the lead in Mini-Season 3 with 31 points, 5 points ahead of Potts with only one week left. It also puts all but four people (Steven, Potts, Morgan and Remo) out of contention for the mini-season.
Bagu got second place, not sure I saw him play a single hand.
I was about to double up through Mike a get to a dangerously healthy chip stack, but instead he sucks out on me with a 5 outer and uses those chips to get 3rd place. Mike is now back in the Top 9, shoving Jeremiah out along the way.
Mortimer is the other hot streaker, pointing yet again last night for the 3rd time in only 4 attempts. The 4th place and 6 points pushes him to 31, only 13 points out of the Top 9. At this rate and 11 weeks left, he's on pace for 85 points and a ticket to the show.
I got 4th. Boo. Should have been more, but I'll take it. Mike, Arjan and I are having a little tea party all tied for 3rd overall.
Padma was the bubble for the second time this season.
Kurt may have drafted a winning fantasy team last night, but he extends his BPC cold streak to 7 weeks. Also in the cooler are Chess and Nicole, both with 5 week point-free streaks.
One final thought... the 9th place spot had 39 points in Week 12, and 42 in Week 13. The half way point of the season is in between those two, so let's call it 40 points. With that in mind, its not unreasonable to think that the 9th place spot will have double that come the end of the season... meaning 80 points is going to be the cutoff??!?!? Ouch. And actually I just looked back at Seasons 9 and 10, and roughly speaking that rule held true. Game time.

Season 11 - Week 13
BPC Season 11 - Week 13
-----------------------
We have officially passed the half way point of the season, and last night brought huge changes across the leader board. Morgan and Steven ended up heads up, and Morgan comes out on top this week. He's only played 3 times, but now has a 1st and a 3rd to show for it, so is making his way up the leader board.
Steven's 2nd and 12 points vaults him from 10th place all the way to the top, and he is now our new overall leader. After blanking the first 5 weeks to start off the season, he has now pointed in 5 of the last 8 and is the man to catch.
Potts got 3rd last night, and its only his third pointing of the season. But with the other two being firsts, its enough to put him in second place overall, just a single point behind the leader.
Arjan continues his climb, and with his 4th place and 6 points from last night, he's now in 3rd place overall. That means all 3 of the Top 3 are new this week.
Jeena got 5th, and those scrappy 3 points are actually huge for her. With them, she's in 6th place overall by herself, without them she's out of the Top 9.
And this week's Bubble Boy was no new comer to the position... Hee Hall for the third time this season.
Meanwhile, I'm heading in the wrong direction and have now gone 5 weeks in a row without pointing. This time courtesy of Julius with a well placed suck out. The only one colder than me right now is Kurt, who is on a 6 week losing streak.
What a crazy tight race this season though. With no break away winners and half a season left, everyone is completely still in the hunt. Right now 13th place could still just about be the overall leader with just a single win.

Season 11 - Week 11
BPC Season 11 - Week 11
-----------------------
I was all prepared to hand over my temporary and tenuous season lead to someone this week, especially after getting out-played by Jeremiah and exiting before the final table. (I had two pair, I thought for sure he was just playing his aces. Well, he was, except he had a pair of Q's to go with them too for top two.) But the good news is that I'm kicking his ass in bejeweled blitz this week, so we'll call it even.
As it stands though, no one in the top 7 pointed this week, so I get to hold on to the tiara for just a bit longer.
Potts ends up winning the week, for his second pointing (both of them wins) of the season in just 7 showings. The win boosts him up all the way from 15th to 5th all by himself.
Jeremiah got 2nd, and goes from 11th to tied for 3rd with Arjan.
Third place goes to Omar, who has been ice cold this season but gets his first pointing in 9 starts. Hee Hall got 4th place for his first pointing, and Steven got the scrappy 5th for his 4th pointing in the last 6 weeks. Hopefully his luck carried on to Vegas this weekend for him.
Bryan was the bubble boy for the week, and Sungina and KarJacked are the two booted from the Top 9 party for now.

Season 11 - Week 10
BPC Season 11 - Week 10
-----------------------
Arjan Uncle steps up in Week 10, winning both the week AND the mini-season! Great job Arjan. That moves him up to 39 points and 3rd place overall, in the Top 9 for the first time this season. All of his points came in the second mini-season, timing is everything.
Mike got 2nd place, for his second pointing in a row and 4th overall. He's at 36 points now, in the Top 9 for the first time of the season and tied with the Milkman in 5th place. (Which reminds me, I have a side bet on those guys.) Arjan and Mike bumped out Jeremiah and Nicole from the Top 9.
Third place goes to "Captain" Morgan, a strong showing in only his second appearance for the year. I went through the trouble of moving him out of the "Guest" row and into his own, so hopefully he'll show up a lot more this season. (Even with just those two showings, his still ahead of all-stars Omar and Hee Hall.)
Fourth place goes to Jeena, who moves up from 7th to 4th overall. She finished with 32 points in the mini-season, just 3 behind Arjan. The Godfather gets the scrappy 5th, and Hee The Champ Hall is the Bubble Boy for the second week in a row.
Next week starts a fresh new mini-season, let's see who can get hot or continue their hot streaks.
There was some grumbling that the DOUBLE HEADER previously scheduled for next week will be MOVED. I haven't updated the spreadsheet yet, so it still says next week, but more than likely it will be moved to Friday 8/13 to Friday 10/1. A confirmation wil be sent out later. Blame it on Sungina.
BFF's...
Arjan Uncle, about to take these sucka's out...
Good enough to fight over...
