Season 11 - Week 16

BPC Season 11 - Week 16
-----------------------

Week 16 and we start the fourth Mini-Season with fireworks.  Very early in the night, Chess raises pre-flop to 550 out of position, and Kurt calls.  Flop comes Ah 3h 4h.  Chess checks and Kurt bets 550.  Chess calls, and turn comes 3s.  Chess checks again and Kurt bets out another 550.  Chess shoves and Kurt snap calls with pkt 4's for the boat.  Chess says "I have outs" and shows pkt 10's.  Ant says "No, you have AN out, I mucked a 10."  River comes... 10.

Doh!

Not too much later, flop comes 2-6-9 and Jac-o-Karrie checks to Mike, who bets out 600.  Jackedup makes it 2600, and Mike hollywoods a bit until finally pushing all in.  Snap called, and Mike shows pkt 2's for the bottom set, and Jackoffski shows pkt 3's for better set.  Ouch, the dreaded set over set, not much you can do.  No help comes, and Mike is sent to the rail.

Not much after that, Judy turns a set of 9's, and Earl rivers a set of Jack's.  Ouch again.  Judy is out.  (Although this one was slightly different, there was a straight and a flush draw on the board.)

"What's a 7 do?"  - Earl, after catching a 4 card straight all in with his pkt 10's, against Arjan's all-in pkt K's and Jagu's pkt Q's.

(Editor's note:  I was to be paid off by an unnamed benefactor if I could refer to Earl as The Big Wind instead of Hurricane for the rest of the season.  Sounded good to me, I have no journalistic morals, but it just doesn't stick so no soup for me.)

Earl was able to last to 5th place for the night, after having a chip roller coaster ride.  The 3 points help keep him in the overall lead, but an old foe is on his tail yet again.  Potts, perhaps a little grumpy after dropping down a few spots after the Thursday game, is back in the winner's circle, besting Nicole in heads up play.  The 15 points puts him back in 2nd place overall, just 3 points behind the Hurricane.

Nicole ends her 6 week skid with a nice 2nd place.  The 12 points pushes her back into the Top 9 for the first time since Week 10.  Chester could not capitalize off of Kurt's ill gotten chips, and extends his point-less streak to 7 weeks.  Chess is now out of the Top 9 for the first time all season, and probably the first time in many seasons.  I don't expect that to last very long.  Please people, whatever you do, don't place any bet of any sort with him on this, we've seen what the consequences of that have been in the past.

Sungina is also out of the Top 9 for the first time since Week 7.

Julius makes a rare but always welcomed showing, and finishes in 3rd place for the night, and Jack-o-lope finally contributes to Team KarJacked with a 4th place finish and 6 points.  They are now in 4th place overall.

Padma was the bubble, her third of the season (tying Hee Hall for most so far.)

9 weeks to go, and its still anyone's race.
