Season 20 - Week 3

With 3 left at the final table of Week 3, Chess had castles of chips in front of

him and Padma and Remo were pretty short stacked, probably hoping for some way to find a way to 2nd place.  The crappy players like me were already out and at the cash table, but someone next to me (oddly I can't remember who) pulled Padma aside and said "Padma, I already know how this is going to end.  You're going to take Chester out and take first place."  

Maybe not the exact words, but pretty much.  I laughed a bit until not too much longer after that, we hear a bunch of excitement/grumbling/mild profanity from the table, and sure enough Chess is out in 3rd and Padma is stacking chips.  (And for some reason apologizing to Chess too.  I can't imagine a scenario where that would be appropriate.)  

Whoever prognosticated that Padma win should buy a lottery ticket immediately.  (I apologize for not remembering who you were, sure you were sitting right next to me, but that was days ago and I've moved on.)

Congrats Padma, well done!  It's her first pointing of the season and she moves into tied for 3rd with Remo, who finished in 2nd, and Jeena, who did not play and still has the opportunity to buy her point and thereby move into sole possession of 3rd.  (Padma missed Week 1 but passed on the opportunity to buy her point.)

Mike got 4th while playing both the final table and the cash game table simultaneously, because that's what you do after you win both titles in the previous season.  Like Ben-Gay, you just rub it in.

I got 5th (after Chester rivered a Jack with J-9 against my pkt 9's) and Kurticus was the Bubble Boy.
