BPC Season 10 - Week 9
----------------------
Sorry, not much of a write up again this week. I actually made it pretty far and was approaching the bubble so got to see a lot of hands, that is until Mr. Hall 6-outer'd me to take all my chips. It stung too, he was the little blind, and I was the big blind, and everyone folds to us. Lay it down Champ, just lay it down, nothing good can come out of it. There's no money in the pot, why bother. But noooooo, he has to go ahead and bet, Mr. Greedy. I know he's got nothing, he's just trying to pilfer my big blind. But ha! I got a strong Ace. I should have just shoved all in right then in there, we both have around 15,000, and he bet out about 4000. Nah, no problem, just call here and I'll shove after the flop after his continuation bet. Board comes rags and I'm positive he just wiffs at it, and sure enough he bets out at it. I'm positive he has air, so I push all in. He calls reluctantly, and then rivers me with the 6 outer. I'm sent to the slopes.
The other hand I remember from the night was earlier when we were still with 3 tables. Nicole and Jagu both have over 10,000, and end up all-in together. Jagu shows pkt Q's for an overpair of the board, but Nicole has the bullets. No help for Jagu on the turn, but the Queen shows up on the river for a heart breaking 2 outer, and Nicole is sent to the rail.
But Jagu wasn't done there. When it was down to 4 players, Jeff Hall was the chip leader (thanks in part to the chips he bad beat from me) and he has Jagu all in with maybe 6000 left. Jeff has JJ and Jagu has Q-5. Jagu promptly hits the 5 on the flop to make it interesting, then the Q on the river. Later, Jeff just call's Jagu's big blind with A-Q, but Jagu flops a full house with 8-3 and doubles up again through Jeff. And in the last hand of the night for him, The Champ flops trips, but Jagu flops a boat. Gotta love it.
So somewhere along the way, Kelly lasted long enough to become our second double bubble of the season, and Jeena slips into the points for 5th. Jeff goes out in 4th with the hands above, and The Professor places in the money for 3rd. Jagu is able to ride his nine lives all the way to second, but the story of the week is Steven, who is channeling his alter-ego Earl. Apparently Earl is a much better player than Steven, and far more protective of his chips. Earl takes down the top spot for the week, and with his second place for last week he is not only in the Top 9, he's taken over first place for Mini-Season 2 with 28 points, just a couple ahead of Kurt and Bagu. Nicely done. And he's only played 3 weeks this season!
But ok Earl, you've had your fun, please bring Steven back.
