BPC Season 12 - Week 7
----------------------
Week 7, not only the last game of the year, but also the last game with a $40 buy-in. After we collectively win the $237,000,000 in tonight's Mega Millions Lotto, I will be the first to vote for a substantial increase.
(Actually, I just checked and its up to $242,000,000 now, with an estimated cash value of $154,000,000. Can't wait! I've already put my 2 weeks notice in at work.)
In the meantime, after a 5 week dry spell, Padma is back in the points with a 1st place win last night. Congrats Padma! As you recall, after being the perennial bubble gal and just missing the Final Table by a hair the last few seasons, Padma is one of the favorites to make it this year. The win last night puts her in to 5th place overall.
Mike (who is going to win the Points Championship this season) got his third pointing of the season with a 2nd place, and is in 2nd place overall, just 9 points behind Jagu.
Karrie of KarJacked rode her fat stacks to 3rd place for the team's second pointing of the season. They are tied for 8th overall with Jeena. Omar got 4th, Kelly got the scrappy 5th, and I was the freakin Bubble Boy after Omar cracked my pkt Aces. I hate the bubble. Almost as much as I hate my Aces being cracked.
Have a safe and fun New Year's everyone!!! See you on the other side in Millionaire-land!!!

Season 12 - Week 6
BPC Season 12 - Week 6
----------------------
Sorry this is so late, I completely forgot about the Week 6 update with all the holiday hoopla going on. And by holiday hoopla I mean freely flowing Patron. But if memory serves (and it usually doesn't) Week 6 was our annual BPC White Elephant gift exchange.
That's about all I remember from the night, so let's let the pictures do the talking. But congrats to Omar, who takes down the win in only his second game of the season. And to Jagu, who got 2nd place and extends his overall lead on the group. (Jagu has had a share of 1st or been in 1st since Week 2.)
Charlie got his 4th pointing in 6 attempts with a 3rd place this week, and is in 2nd place overall. Newlius follow up his win last week with a 4th place this week, and is in 3rd overall. Kelly got the scrappy 5th and Sungina was our Bubble Gal this week.
Judy and Scott are 0 for 6 for the season.

Season 12 - Week 5
BPC Season 12 - Week 5
----------------------
We have our 5th new winner in the first 5 weeks. Julius, playing an all-new form of restrained and patient poker, takes down Week 5 for his second pointing of the season, and finds himself firmly in the Top 9, tied for 3rd overall with Chess. Jules, I think I like the old Julius better, but until you bring back the monkey with a shotgun your BPC call sign shall be Newlius.
He definitely is a new player, and maybe a new person. Look at the picture, its probably the first one ever where he's not flipping off the camera (or me.) I think I can almost see his eyes too.
Arjan, who always plays restrained and patient poker, takes down 2nd place for his 3rd pointing of the season (and in a row), and moves up to 2nd place overall. Chester got 3rd place, and Mike (who is going to win the points championship this season) got 4th place.
Scott, Remo, Judy and Jeff Hall were all 0 for 4 for the season going into the week, and Hee Hall is the first to blink, slipping into the scrappy 5th place spot last night, just outlasting me, who ended up on the dreaded Bubble. :( Booo, I hate the bubble.
Remo didn't play last night, so Judy and Scott are the only ones left in the 0 for Season club. Last longer anyone?
8 people were in contention for the Mini-Season, but no one was able to make it happen, so Jagu will take it down and the millions of bonus chips that go with it. Congrats Godfather!

BPC Season 12 - Week 4
----------------------
And we have our 4th different winner in the first 4 weeks... this time Jeremiah is back on top. There are 8 people left in contention for the Mini-Season and the bonus chips.
3rd place goes to Arjan for his second pointing of the season, keeping him in the Top 9. And 4th place goes to Charlie, who is on a 3-week pointing streak and in 2nd place overall. Jeena took the scrappy 5th, and Papa Kumo was the Bubble Boy.
Scott, Remo, Judy and Hee Hall are all 0 for 4 this year, logging in the longest losing streaks of the season and counting. Last longer anyone?

BPC Season 12 - Week 3

Week 3 of the season, and we have our 3rd different winner... this week David takes it down for I believe his first win of his young BPC career. Good job David.
We also have our 3rd different 2nd place winner... Mike. I'll say it right now, Mike is going to win the Points Championship this season. (Sorry Chess.) (Eric - get that pari-mutuel bets set up stat so I can win me some moh-ney.)
Charlie bags 3rd and Nicole gets 4th, and they are the first ones with multiple pointings for the season. Arjan grabs the scrappy 5th, and Hee Hall is this week's Bubble Boy, keeping Mike from the Hat Trick three in a row.
The Mini-Season is still anyone's for the taking.

Season 12 - Week 2
BPC Season 12 - Week 2
----------------------
26 players played last night, making it the largest field in quite a while. Also one of the noisiest. Can someone please give some headphones out during this year's gift exchange please? Go ahead and put "Kumo" on it and we can skip all the picking and stealing pleasantries of the White Elephant exchange.
Mortimer was back in town, and stacking chips nicely. He took a big pot down from Hee Hall on a Q-Q-J board. Hall called the final big bet on the river with A-Q into a monster pot, and Morty shows pkt J's for the flopped boat. Remo took most of it a bit later though, when the flop comes A-8-8. Remo and Morty exchange bets until Morty goes all in on the inconsequential river, showing A-K for top two. Remo shows A-8, slow playing the flopped boat to perfection, and reducing Morty down to just a few blinds.
Meanwhile on Table 1, Chester keeps taking down pots and flashing pkt Aces. BPC freshman rookie Papa Kumo moves over to Table 1 a bit later, and gets, you guessed it, pkt Aces. But runs into Jagu's 6-8 so you know he's drawing dead. Sure enough, Jagu flops a straight, and Papa Kumo is sent to donate at the cash table. (And it wouldn't be the only time Jagu cracked Aces this night.)
In one of the sicker hands of the night, Eric goes all in with A-7 and knows he's drawing real thin when Chess calls with 2-3. Sure enough, deuce come in the window, then 6-3 completes the flop for two pair. A 4 on the turn gives Eric some outs with a 5 for a straight. But a 3 on the river gives Chess the boat and Eric a trip to the rail.
The results are below, and the rest of the write up comes from this week's cub reporter, Jaclyn:
Kurt was killing it at the final table, taking out one person after another. The hand that took Mike out on the bubble: Kurt had pocket 9s, Mike had AK. Kurt hit a 9 on the flop and turned quads. I'm pretty sure Kurt took everyone out except Charlie and me who were knocked out by my dad.
Kurt and Jagu heads up: Kurt would've ended it if his pocket aces had held up against my dad's pocket Js, but Jagu hit a J on the river! Turning the tide and taking the win.
Well played by all!
Congrats Jagu and the rest of the point winners, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING to everyone!!!
