[8:00]  Early in the night and Andy and Padma end up all-in pre-

Week 18 Winner... Jeremiah!

flop.  Andy shows A-K suited and Padma flips over pkt K's.  

Kings's hold up.  

Ah, THAT'S how you play K's.  You make it look so simple.

[8:09]  Just a few hands later, Charlie raises a bunch and Allan U snap calls for all his chips and it's groundhog day all over again... this time it's Allan that shows A-K suited, and Charlie that shows pkt K's.  

Kings hold up again.  

Well heck, it looks like just about everyone can play pkt K's correctly.  (Just about everyone, but I'm taking good notes.)

[9:05]  Potts:  "Can I rebuy?"
Eric:   "Yeah, next week."
Potts:  "Nah, I'll let Chess do that for me."
Garage: "Ooooh, burn."
Eric:   "Potts, you need to buy in at least once this season."
Potts:  "Yeah, Week 1."

Dang, two funnies in a row for Potts, who is both emotionally and financially enjoying a (so far) down showing for Chester in this, the 20th season of the BPC.  Well played Potts.  Chester's money makes you funny.  (Put a beat to that... "Chester's money will make you funny.... Chester's money will make you funny!"  Boom, cha, boom-boom-boom-cha.)  Feel it.

[9:50]  First hand of the final table and Jeena shoves from middle position.  The table folds all the way around to Padma in the Big Blind.  Padma takes just a few moments to think, then ends up calling for her stack, about 10,000.  Padma shows A-K and Jeena shows, you guessed it... wrong.  Not the pkt K's that would have put some eloquent symmetry to this otherwise lame write-up, but instead simply A-J.  Good call by Padma, ahead by more than 70-30.

But Jeena channels her inner Bagu, summoning the "Jack! Jack!! Jack!!!"  

Flop comes... Jack in the window!

Nothing else shows and Padma is first to exit the final table.

Jeena leveraged those chips to a scrappy 5th place finish, and Judy went out just before her in the Bubble spot.

Eric The Milkman had a TON of chips for most of the final table, but I don't have anything in my notes on what he did with them, other than to finish in 4th.  He makes a nice jump up 3 spots from 7th to 4th, and passes by Jeena, Charlie and Amir.

Allen Y secured the first money spot with 3rd, which left me Jeremiah heads up.  And which also reminds me of where Eric's and probably most of everyone else's chips must have went because Jeremiah had some Tolkien-esque sized castles in front of him and it didn't take too long for him to finish me off.

It's a much needed win for Jeremiah, who uncharacteristically went the first 10 weeks without a single pointing (he missed two of those weeks) and found himself all the way down in 20th place.  In the 8 weeks since though, he has 3 pointings with 2 firsts and a 2nd, he now moves up from 12th (and 9 points out) to 10th (and just 2 points out.)

My 2nd place moves me back into the Top 9 for the first time in a while, while Jagu drops out and below both of us into 11th.

That was the only switch in the Top 9 membership.

Right about when we were going to collapse into the final table,

Week 17 Winner... Mike!

Padma shoves all-in for about 2700.  She just lost a few big pots and is steaming a bit so there may be a wide range of hands I'm going to call with just to finish the job off.  I look down and see, you guessed it, my pkt K's.  Joy.  So despite my bitter-sweet history with the K's it's an easy call for Padma's chips.  Unfortunately Mike is to my left.  I had given him a bunch a chips in a couple of hands earlier, and had just recently got them all back and more from other people.  I don't want to give them away again.  Go away Mike, go away.

Nope, no such luck.  He actually shoves all-in for more than than I have, putting me on a decision with my K's that I rarely seem to get correct.  I reluctantly call thinking there's only one hand to be afraid of and talking myself into the possibility he would do that with Q's.  Again, no such luck, he flips over pkt Aces.  They hold up and take out my K's and Padma's pkt J's.

Mike was able to turn those chips into an even more massive chip stack at the final table, and eventually to the first place win in Week 17 of this, the 20th season of the BPC.  Congrats Mike!

Mike had early success this season with a Week 2 win, but then went on an 8 week cold streak without pointing.  But that ended on Week 11 and since then he's had 5 pointings in 7 weeks, including 2 wins and a 2nd.  All that success puts him into 1st place overall, 9 points ahead of Padma.

Charlie took down 2nd place and jumps from 9th to 5th.

Eric took 3rd and remains in 7th.

Allan U got 4th and moves past Amir into 3rd place.

Kelly got the scrappy 5th and Kurticus, normally the perennial Bubble Boy, bubbles for the first time this season.

From the WTF file, early in the night of Week 16 of this, the 20th season of the BPC, Jeena, Andy and Amir end up all in pre-flop with:

Jeena:  A-K
Andy:   A-Q
Amir:   A-J

Jeena and Andy are in for all their chips.

Amir:  "Jack, jack, jack!!!"

Flop comes... J-10-4.

Doh, he actually hit it.  Turns come something, but...

"Wait, wait!  Wrong deck!" yells Potts, who is the secondary dealer at the table.

Say what?  It's true, everyone re-looks at the backs of their cards and Jeena, the real dealer confirms, its the wrong color.  Ok, that was a fun little fake-gasim for Amir and everyone (but mostly Amir), but let's get back to reality with the real deck.

Jeena deals and... Jack in the window!  First card out and lighting strikes twice for Amir.  Next card is whatever, and third card... bang! another Jack.  Amir flops trips with the real deck, and Jeena rebuys.

Amir wasn't able to do much with those chips, but still remains tied for second overall with Mike, both still behind Padma.

This weeks winner... Kurticus!  He seems to be an all-or-nothing-not-playing-for-second kinda player, because he only has 3 pointings for the year, but all 3 are first places.  Congrats Kurt!  The win moves him up from 10th to into the Top 9 at 6th.

Jagu got 2nd and also moves in the Top 9 from 11th to 8th.

Judy gets her 2nd pointing of the season with a 3rd place, and Jeena gets value from her rebuy chips with a 4th.  

Andy must have re-bought also because he got the scrappy 5th.  

And Allan U was the Bubble Boy, his first of the season.  (Still well behind my league-leading 3 bubbles.)

Season 20 - Weeks 11-15

Ok, it looks like I've fallen behind both in BPC updates and BPC points.  But now that we've wrapped up Week 15 and the 3rd Mini-Season, and are heading into the final stretches of this, the 20th season of the BPC, I will try to keep up with both.

I've missed just about a full Mini-Season of updates and catching up would be asking a little too much of someone of my advanced age and limited intellect, so all I can offer is a shout out to the last 5 winners, and an update of current standings.

Week 11 Winner... Kurticus!

Congrats to the winners and the rest of the pointers who have pulled ahead of me in the process.  And congrats to Amir who squeaked out the Mini-Season 3 victory over Mike by a single point.

Overall, Padma still hangs on to the lead but has only pointed once in the last 5 weeks with a 4th place.  Meanwhile both Mike and Amir have had 3 significant finishes each, and are now tied for 2nd place just 5 points behind.

Week 9 Winner... Padma!

I was on hiatus two seasons ago when Padma completely destroyed the field and ran away with the season points title, but just my luck I may be able to witness it first hand this season.  She has pointed 3 weeks in a row now, completing the hat-trick with a 1st, a 2nd and now another 1st place finish in Week 9 of this, the 20th season of the BPC.  

Incredible.  She's the first with multiple wins, and extends her already significant lead to 21 ahead of 2nd place Allan U.  For some perspective, she is ahead by more points than notables such as Potts, Chess, Remo, Andy, Kelly, JC, Jeremiah (you get the picture) have all season.  She has also clinched up Mini-Season 2 with one week still to go.  Well done Padma.  Now stop it.

Before we get to the rest of the finishers, let's listen to some quotes heard during the night.

[7:15]  "I never plan to."  - Brice, when asked upon arrival if he was going to rebuy.

[7:51]  "Judy rebuy!"  - Someone.
That's reigning Champion Judy to you sir.

[7:53]  "Brice rebuy!"  - Someone.
He may never plan on it, but clearly he's never opposed to it.

[8:07]  Jeremiah:  "What are you thinking about?"
Potts:  "Why?  Now you have my attention. I think you want me to fold."
Jeremiah:  "Ok, then call."
Potts' Brain:  "Damn."
Potts' Ego:  "Do it."

Potts ends up calling after that 50 shades of brain fk from Jeremiah, and ends up losing to Jeremiah's small rivered flush.

[8:10]  "Potts, I can guarantee you two things tonight.  You will play your best, and it won't be enough."  - Kurticus

[8:51]  "I'm not worried about Jeremiah.  In fact he has far too many chips for him to be dangerous."  - Kurticus, after Jeremiah has scooped a bunch of pots.

[8:53]  "Really Jeremiah?"  - Jeena after Jeremiah shoves pre-flop. 
Jeena ends up calling with A-Q and Jeremiah shows my btchs, pkt-K's.  The K's hold up and Jeena is out.

[8:58]  Chess is here!  With a brief case of Coors light in hand.  

[9:39]  "Re-raise."  - Allen Y putting Chess all-in.
Chess calls.  Allen shows A-Q and Chess shows Ace with a mystery card underneath.  (I correctly guessed it as a Jack.)  Allen's A-Q holds up, and Chess is out.

But it was the other Allan that ended up finishing in 2nd behind Padma.  Allan U gets his 4th pointing of the season and second in a row, moving out of the 3-way tie for 5th into 2nd place.  (It also puts him in 2nd for the Mini-Season, but 23 points out and out of reach of Padma.)

Jagu navigates past a minor pharmaceutical mishap into 3rd place, his second of the season, and moves into the Top 9 at 7th.

Charlie got his league-leading 5th pointing of the season (only Padma has as many) with a 4th place, and moves into a tie for 4th with me.

Allen Y took Chess' chips to the scrappy 5th. Jeremiah was the Bubble Boy, and is the only player who is 0 for 9 in the season.  Don't let that fool you though, he's ALWAYS been a second half player.

Week 8 Winner... Judy!!!

At about 9:16 pm a short stacked Judy went all in pre-flop for 1875, and got calls from Jeremiah and Potts.  A straight on the river gave her a triple up, and I don't think she looked back from there as she was Week 8's winner of this, the 20th season of the BPC.  Congrats Judy! 

It's her first pointing of the season and it moves her up from 20th to 10th, just out of the Top 9.

Apparently Jeremiah's giving mood didn't stop there.  He had accumulated a sizable stack, over 40K, but started to distribute them out, one of the primary benefactors being Padma who used them to follow up last week's 1st place with a 2nd place this week.  She is now both the Mini-Season leader and the overall leader by healthy 10 points.  Good job Padmito!

Eric also went back to back with a solid 3rd place finish this week, and moves up from 18th and into the Top 9 at 8th.

Allen U goth 4th and also moves into the Top 9 into a 3-way tie for 5th, with Charlie Hebdo who got the scrappy 5th and Steven Earl who was a no show.)

And I was this season's first 2-time Bubble Boy, so I got that going for me.
